# About Porch Petal

Small, free planners for looking after a home.

## What it is

Porch Petal turns the jobs a house needs into lists you can follow: a seasonal maintenance schedule built from your home's features, a chart of how long appliances typically last with a check of your own, a room-by-room inventory for insurance, and calendar reminders for filters. The task lists are written for this site; where a page depends on a published figure, such as InterNACHI's life expectancy chart or the EPA's septic guidance, it names and links the source.

## How it works

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type, and none of your photos, is sent anywhere. Your schedule, appliance list and filter settings are kept in your browser's local storage, and the home inventory in its IndexedDB storage, on this device only. Once a page has loaded it keeps working without a connection. There are no accounts, cookies or ads.

## What it is not

It is not a contractor, an insurer or a safety inspection. The schedule is a reminder of common checks; for gas, electrics, chimneys and roofs, use qualified professionals and follow your appliance manuals. The inventory is a record you keep, not cover, and your insurer decides what evidence it needs.
